Sophia's Nail Odyssey: A Voyage of Elegance and Glamour
Add a little polish to your life with Sophia's Nail Polish.
Overview
As part of an advanced design course,I developed an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) model for an e-commerce app for a nail polish brand called "Sophia's Nail Polish."
The brand's marketing message, "add a little polish to your life," aims to promote elegance and femininity.

LOGO
The logo conveys a cute and elegant feminine temperament.
Ideate
The target audience primarily consists of female users who have a passion for nail care and pursue an elegant lifestyle. The age group is between 18 and 40 years old. The app aims to provide users with a delightful shopping experience, enabling them to find their desired nail polishes and discover fresh inspirations for their nail art.
As an MVP version, I chose to design the Home Page, Product Page, Checkout and Confirmation Page. These four pages provide essential functionality for users while keeping the design simple and focused.
Design
Next, I started sketching low-fidelity wireframes on Figma.
WIREFRAME
The wireframes showcase the main content of these four pages concisely and effectively, highlighting the key elements with clarity.
Style Guide
I made a style guide to show and instruct others on the final choices for all visual aspects, including colors, icons, and typefaces.
Color Palette
My color palette primarily revolves around soft pink and brown hues, creating a gentle and minimalist style. The pinks, Blush and Rose, exude warmth and femininity, while the browns, represent a sense of earthiness and simplicity, evoking a soothing and elegant ambiance for the app's design.
Icon
I kept the icons clean and simple, and for the most part, I used universal icons.
Typography
For the typography, I incorporated Playfair Display, an ornate and vintage serif font, to infuse the app with a touch of elegance. To enhance readability, I opted for Source Sans Pro, a clean and modern sans serif font, for all other text throughout the app.
Prototype
I continued to use Figma to create my high-fidelity wireframes and an interactive prototype.
INTERACTIVE PROTOTYPE
This prototype showcases the interactions for Homepage, Product details, Product review, and Payment.
Next Step
I would like to test the design with users to validate concept so far. It would be important to find out if the app’s flows and visual design resonate with users or not. I would also like to see where there are areas of improvement because continuous iterations are an integral part of the design process.
